Virtual Open House - An Enablement Leader "Tell All"


How fun is it to have my work life and passion project blend together! Here we go!


Last week, my team at Outreach hosted a Virtual Open House. While this was technically part of our creative recruiting strategy for our multiple open roles, the reality was - we wanted an opportunity to share and give back to the enablement community as a team. We lifted the hood on how we run enablement at Outreach.


We shared one post on LinkedIn and added the registration link to two slack communities we engage in regularly. In approximately two weeks, we had 145 registrants and near 100 highly engaged participants day of! I definitely wasn't expecting that kind of turnout!


We facilitated a three part session:

  • Team Overview (20 Min) - I shared 2 truths and a lie, reviewed my career path in enablement, walked through our team charter and discussed hiring philosophy and our org chart.

  • AMA (20 Min) - A team member managed slido where folks were able to upvote their questions. We had over 45 questions submitted and barely scratched the surfaces in the rapid fire Q&A!

  • Breakout Networking with Team Members (20 Min) - We split into small groups and discussed trending topics in the space. Folks asked about scale, onboarding, metrics, content management, tech stack, etc.

As a result of the enthusiasm from this enablement community, I plan to answer many of the questions presented in an ongoing 🌟 FAQ series 🌟 through this site! So if you aren't already - please subscribe to ensure you get email notifications when a new post is live!
